Pay Rates:

• £24.50 per hour Monday to Friday
• £26.95 per hour Weekends (if worked)

Hours:4050 hours per week (contracted)
Shifts Available:

• 4-day fixed line:Sunday to Wednesday (flexible start times)
• 5-day shift:Monday to Friday (mainly early/day shifts, with late shift coverage 1 week in 6 until 10 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and mechanical repairs on public service vehicles (buses and coaches)
• Diagnose faults on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems using modern diagnostic equipment
• Record maintenance and repair activities accurately using electronic tablets and fleet management systems
• Interpret and follow technical manuals and manufacturer guidelines
• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure fleet reliability
• Follow all workshop health and safety protocols
• Support the wider maintenance team and undertake additional tasks as required

Candidate Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent international qualification)
• Alternatively, 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience with PSV, PCV, HGV, or commercial vehicle maintenance
• Experience working in a public service or fleet maintenance environment preferred
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Proficiency with electronic systems and fleet software
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently

Shift Patterns

Option 1 4-Day Fixed Line:

• Sunday to Wednesday
• Flexible start times
• No late or weekend rotation beyond scheduled days

Option 2 5-Day (Mon-Fri):

• Predominantly early/day shifts
• Late shift coverage 1 week in every 6 (until 10 PM)
• No weekend requirement

40 to 50 hours per week, based on your availability.
