We are currently looking for a Workshop Assistant to join our team in Dyce, Aberdeen. This position is required for the general maintenance of our yards, supporting forklift duties and helping to ensure smooth running of our operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to take their first step into the industry. We are looking for someone who is motivated, reliable, and eager to learn, with a willingness to develop their skills within a hands‑on operational environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform all general housekeeping duties associated with the workshop, stores and offices.
- Assist with workshop preparation of components, units for dispatch to vendor or customer.
- Maintain appearance of outside yard space and car park.
- Carry out local deliveries and pick ups as required in our 1 tonne flatbed company van.
- Provide general handyman duties for the facility.
- Forklift duties as required.
- Duty of care in all HSE, Quality and Workshop Procedures.
- Develop effective internal working relations within the Workshop and Stores & all internal functions in order to meet customer requirements and overall process.
- Provide assistance to the Fitting Team Leader/Inventory Manager where required.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Focused on detail.
- Numerical, Literacy and Administration skills.
- Flexible, self‑motivated and high levels of initiative – ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Prepared to work independently on their own initiative and as part of a team involved in a culture of continuous improvement.
- Good communication skills essential.
Experience
- Clean, full UK driving license.
- Forklift certificate – (minimum 10 tonne) preferable, not essential.
- Manual handling certificate preferable, not essential.
- Risk assessment and COSHH qualifications, preferable, not essential.Banksman Slinging, using an overhead crane certificate would be preferable, not essential.
