About The Job

The

BIM Technician is responsible for producing coordinated, high-quality Revit models and drawings on data centre projects, working as part of a wider BIM and Engineering team.

This role focuses on MEP/M&E modelling, drawing production, and clash coordination in support of the BIM Project Lead and Engineering teams.

The BIM Technician plays a hands‑on role in day‑to‑day model production, ensuring deliverables are accurate, compliant, and aligned with project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Project BIM Delivery
  • Ensure all BIM deliverables meet project programme and milestones.
  • Monitor modelling progress and report status to the BIM Project Manager.
  • Model Coordination & Quality
  • Develop and maintain coordinated Revit models with other disciplines.
  • Run clash detection processes and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Identify clashes and communicate them clearly to Engineering Teams for resolution.
  • Ensure models are structured, efficient, and aligned with best practice.
  • Standard Compliance
  • Ensure all models comply with internal BIM standards and QA processes.
  • Implement client‑specific BIM requirements on projects.
  • Maintain model integrity, naming conventions, and data consistency.
  • Ensure drawings extracted from models meet company quality standards.
  • Setup and develop Models in line with Client BEP requirements.
  • Drawing Production & Output
  • Oversee the production of drawings from Revit models.
  • Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and ready for issue.
  • Maintain consistency across all project outputs.
  • Stakeholder Coordination
  • Represent Ethos in BIM coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams to align BIM models with design intent.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and project stakeholders.
  • Communicate BIM‑related issues, risks, and progress effectively.
  • Model Health & Performance
  • Monitor model performance, file size, and usability.
  • Ensure models remain clean, efficient, and suitable for project use.
  • Implement best practices to avoid model degradation over time.
  • Key Objectives
  • Deliver coordinated, high-quality BIM models and drawings.
  • Ensure efficient and proactive coordination across disciplines.
  • Maintain consistency with BIM standards and project requirements.
  • Support predictable and reliable BIM delivery on projects.
  • Authority & Decision Making
  • Responsible for BIM coordination and delivery at project level.
  • Oversees modelling teams and day‑to‑day BIM activities.
  • Escalates technical or resource issues to the BIM Project Manager when required.

  • Engineering design decisions or approvals.
  • Responsibility for system layouts or technical calculations.
  • Issuing models externally without required approvals. Changing BIM standards independently.
  • Commercial or contractual project management responsibilities.

About You

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in BIM delivery within MEP or multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience working on large‑scale or complex projects (e. g. data centres).
  • Experience leading or coordinating BIM teams on projects.
  • Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit MEP (essential).
  • Experience in clash detection tools (e. g. Navisworks).
  • Understanding of BIM coordination processes and workflows.
  • Familiarity with common data environments (e. g. ACC/FORMA).
  • Knowledge of BIM standards and QA processes.
  • Understanding of ISO 19650 principles.
  • Knowledge of industry Revit add‑ins to streamline processes.
  • Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
