We are working with a well-established business in Kettering looking to add a Finance Assistant to their team. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of the finance function, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, taking ownership and getting properly involved in a busy finance environment.
This position offers exposure across multiple areas of finance, with responsibility spanning Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Credit Control, alongside supporting the early stages of month-end processes. It’s a role where you won’t just be processing; you’ll be contributing, improving and adding value.
Key Responsibilities:- Managing purchase ledger activities, including invoice processing and supplier payments
- Supporting sales ledger processes, including invoicing and cash allocation
- Taking ownership of credit control, building relationships and managing aged debt
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting the early stages of month-end, including journals and reporting preparation
- Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Previous experience in a finance role covering AP, AR, or credit control
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Keen to learn, develop, and take on broader responsibilities over time
- A team player who enjoys being hands-on and making a difference
