Port Service Technician
Location: Home based, travel UK wide
Basic Salary: £40-£45k per annum plus overtime

Our client is a leading provider in crane and lifting equipment solutions, seeking a skilled and experienced Crane and Lifting Equipment Technician to join their dynamic Port & Marine Team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of client cranes and lifting equipment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance.
Job Description
As a Crane and Lifting Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of client cranes and lifting equipment across UK Port locations.
- Performing repairs and inspections on various electrical equipment and systems.
- Conducting fault finding and repairs on hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Managing commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of mechanical equipment.
- Assisting in spares identification and procurement.
- Producing clear, factual reports for all jobs.
- Rigging and lift planning.
- Ensuring compliance with site HSEQ requirements.
- Collaborating with site staff to maintain a safe working environment.
- Minimising environmental risks during tasks, including offshore activities.
- Traveling outside of the UK/Ireland for departmental assistance or training.
Skills & Competencies
The successful candidate should possess:
- An apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical, or Hydraulic Engineering.
- Experience in the crane industry.
- Experience with Liebherr, Gottwald, and other cranes is advantageous.
- Proficiency in commissioning and fault finding on electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings and apply them practically.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Comfort working at heights.
- In-depth knowledge of preventative maintenance on cranes.
- IT literacy and report-writing skills.
- Valid UK/Ireland driving license.
