Venatu Recruitment is proud to announce an opportunity with a global leader in the aerospace sector at their Birmingham site. The company is well-established, with a turnover approaching a billion pounds annually and operations in 40 countries. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias.
This role offers a salary of up to £50,000 per annum on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
Main Duties
- Provide high-standard multi-skilled engineering support, working safely either independently or as part of a team.
- Diagnose faults, repair equipment to ensure safe operation, reliability, and availability.
- Engineer solutions for equipment failures through continuous improvement.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute installation and plant improvement projects, including sourcing spares and documenting work to audit standards.
- Communicate with suppliers and chase outstanding orders.
- Provide shift coverage for factory start-up/shutdown as required.
- Report equipment issues, follow-up works, and spares requirements to the Shift Plant Engineer, and document in shift reports.
Candidate Requirements
- BTec or equivalent in Engineering; ONC/OND or experienced apprentice considered.
- Experience with heavy motorized and hydraulic plant.
- Experience in the rubber and plastics industry, including rolling mills, extrusion, moulding, or press shops.
- Desirable: experience with steam generation, boiler operation, and high-pressure fluid systems.
- Mechanical and electrical skills, including safely isolating and working on equipment with multiple energy sources (electricity, steam, hydraulics, pneumatics, large motors).
- Experience with a CMMS system.
- Welding (MIG, MMA) and fabrication skills.
