We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client’s dynamic engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, contributing to the design and development of innovative solutions.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting internal and external design reviews, delivering high-quality design packages and ensuring projects are completed to specification, on time, and within scope.

Key Responsibilities Of a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Produce detailed 3D design packages, including fabrication and manufacturing drawings.
- Ensure all work aligns with contract specifications and quality standards.
- Plan, perform, monitor, and report on assigned tasks and deliverables.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding project progress.
- Participate in cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create detailed parts and assemblies.
Requirements Of a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Proven experience in industries such as Mechanical, Fabrication, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Energy, or Electrical sectors.
- Background in an industrial or manufacturing company, in a similar role.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
- Expertise in sheet metal or structural engineering.
- Experience producing bills of materials and adhering to quality procedures.
Desirable Skills And Experience
- Degree (BEng/BSc) in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Knowledge of acoustic and air flow design packages.
- Experience in steel modular canopy design.
- Familiarity with design verification calculations (e.g., acoustic, structural, heat, and ventilation).
- Understanding of generators and switchgear systems.
Education And Qualifications
- Apprenticeship-trained or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, with preference for SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
