We are currently looking for a Buyer for our Newmarket based client. You MUST have previous Construction Buying experience.

Construction Buyer
Location: Newmarket
Salary: £32,000 to £37,000 DOE
Hours: 37.5hrs per week, M-F (9am to 5pm)
Type: Permanent

Our Newmarket client is currently looking for a Construction Buyer to join their team. This role will be crucial in managing the purchasing process and ensuring the supply chain runs effectively. Strong negotiation skills and understanding of logistics and supply chain management is key to this role.

What will you receive?

  • 25 days holiday plus 8 (can rise to 30 plus 8 after 5 years service)
  • Auto enrolment pension scheme
  • Bonus up to 12.5% of salary.

What will the Construction Buyer be required to do?

  • Timely procurement of goods and services for off-site manufacturing, on-site and to stock.
  • To procure goods and services to meet the cost saving targets.
  • Manage and maintain purchase orders.
  • To communicate regularly with designated site teams to facilitate the planned or ad-hoc procurement requirements within reasonable site deadlines.

What are we looking for in the Construction Buyer?

  • CIPS/NVQ in relevant subject i.e. procurement & supply, purchasing, supply chain management.
  • Ability to build relationships, internally and externally.
  • Good negotiation and research skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Experience of working in procurement.
