You will ensure my client\’s operations meet all legal, corporate, and safety standards while promoting a proactive compliance culture. The role includes overseeing internal and contractor performance, managing compliance systems, and ensuring accurate data reporting. You\’ll also play a key part in enhancing processes, coordinating service delivery, and supporting operational excellence.

We are looking for a skilled Compliance Lead to manage gas safety compliance and related building services contracts. You will ensure my client\’s operations meet all legal, corporate, and safety standards while promoting a proactive compliance culture. The role includes overseeing internal and contractor performance, managing compliance systems, and ensuring accurate data reporting. You\’ll also play a key part in enhancing processes, coordinating service delivery, and supporting operational excellence.
This role operates on a hybrid policy, requiring the first month to be spent in-person at the office. Afterward, you will be expected to manage and supervise your own diary, including visits to sites and the office as needed within Yorkshire.
Please note, this is not a gas engineer role-it is a desk-based, survey-focused compliance position. You should be comfortable writing policies, managing data, and working with the commercial team.
While being a certified gas engineer is required, the primary focus will be compliance and administration rather than hands-on engineering.
The salary for this role ranges between £45,000 and £48,000, and includes either a company van or a car allowance/salary sacrifice scheme.
Main Responsibilities
- Gas Compliance Management: Lead the delivery of gas compliance services, ensuring full adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Act as the Responsible Person for gas safety.
- Contract Oversight: Manage compliance-related contracts and contractors to ensure effective service delivery and budget control. Ensure correct competencies are in place for works being carried out.
- Auditing & Reporting: Conduct regular audits, site inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and compliance is maintained.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of servicing, maintenance, and remedial actions. Ensure compliance data is updated in relevant systems.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement policies, procedures, and control measures to ensure continuous improvement in compliance functions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, clients, tenants, and external contractors to deliver excellent customer service and meet service delivery objectives.
- Training & Advice: Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance systems and regulatory standards, ensuring training compliance specific to the tasks being carried out by both internal staff and contractors working on behalf of my client.
- Procurement & Budgeting: Assist in procurement processes, prepare specifications for contracts, and manage budgets effectively.
Essential
Qualifications & Experience
- ACS Commercial Gas Safe certification – minimum 5 years experience in commercial.
- Experience in managing large-scale compliance contracts, including audits and risk assessments.
- Strong knowledge of gas safety regulations and building compliance standards.
- Proficiency in IT systems and compliance data management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel UK wide.
Desirable
- Professional qualification in Gas Building Services or a related field (e.g., HNC or ASGM Level 4).
- IOSH Managing Safely or CITB SMSTS.
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 and health and safety standards.
- Membership in a relevant professional body.
