As Physical Security Design Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of physical security design solutions across data centre and critical infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for overseeing the security engineering design team, setting technical standards, and ensuring the high-quality delivery of security systems design across multiple sectors. You will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of security engineering services, supporting project delivery while also contributing to business development and client engagement.

About You

  • 8+ years’ experience in security engineering design, preferably within data centres, critical infrastructure, commercial, healthcare or pharmaceutical environments
  • Proven experience leading or managing engineering or design teams
  • Strong track record delivering large-scale security systems design projects
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across engineering, IT and construction environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and design teams simultaneously
  • Experience leading and mentoring security engineers or design teams
  • Ability to define and implement security design standards, methodologies and best practices
  • Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, clients and project leadership
  • Experience supporting business growth, client relationships and service development
  • Strong knowledge of modern physical security systems, including:
  • Access control systems
  • Video surveillance (CCTV / VMS)
  • Intrusion detection systems
  • Perimeter protection technologies
  • Security command and control platforms
  • Integration with IT and network infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of EN, ISO and BS standards and relevant security regulations
  • Experience designing security solutions for high-security environments such as data centres
  • Familiarity with risk assessments, threat modelling and security strategy development
  • Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Security Engineering or a related discipline
  • Professional certifications are advantageous (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CPP, PSP or other recognised security certifications)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to translate technical security requirements into practical engineering solutions
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to support project proposals and technical bids
