About the role

We're recruiting experienced teaching assistants for SEND support work at a secondary school in North London. You'll provide classroom support and work within the school's SEND team, supporting pupils with complex needs and contributing to the school's specialist provision. As a teaching assistant in a SEND secondary setting, you'll deliver classroom support focused on enabling pupils with additional needs to access learning. You'll work flexibly across different subjects and settings, supporting behaviour, building relationships, and helping pupils with complex learning and developmental needs.

Your role as a SEND teaching assistant will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with complex needs
  • Behaviour support and positive behaviour strategies
  • Supporting pupils with communication and language needs
  • Working flexibly across different classroom settings
  • Supporting transitions and managing anxiety
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Contributing to the school's SEND provision

The work is varied and meaningful. You'll support pupils with different profiles of need, work across different subjects and year groups, and see real impact on pupil confidence and progress.

About you

You're an experienced teaching assistant with proven classroom experience and genuine commitment to supporting pupils with complex needs. You might be someone with years of SEND support experience, a teaching assistant moving into specialist SEND work, or someone with real passion for working with young people with additional needs. You bring:
