Our client is a growing and successful service provider in the utilities industry and are hiring for a Head of Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (emphasis on health & safety). It's an exciting and important period of change with a growing workforce. They have sites across Hampshire, Sussex and Kent with this role leading HSQE across all of them (with help from the team which is currently 5 people and set to grow by 1 or 2 over the next 6 months).
The company places strategic priority on HSQE, with this role responsible for:
- Providing leadership, guidance, and management in all Health & Safety (H&S) matters to support the achievement of company objectives.
- Overseeing the implementation and management of H&S policies, ensuring a safe working environment across all operational areas.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and best practices to enhance workplace safety.
- Supporting the implementation and compliance of the Business Management System (BMS) in line with industry standards and regulations.
The role will involve working onsite 5 days per week as standard (split across the different sites). They are looking for someone with managerial experience and charisma - able to influence and work with the team, senior leadership, workforce at large and the end client. The successful candidate is likely to be at "Manager" level now, looking to step up to "Head of" but may already be working at this level. A diploma in Health & Safety is required, as it a full driving license and significant subject matter expertise.
