Ethon was built to eliminate the trillion-dollar waste problem in manufacturing. We are the technology leader in Industrial AI, building agentic workflows that help manufacturers optimize cost, quality, and speed of production. We serve manufacturers from Siemens and Bosch to Lindt and Roche, and are backed by Index Ventures, General Catalyst, and Earlybird. Our team draws from Palantir, MBB, Meta, Google, and top manufacturing companies, all here for the same reason: giving manufacturers the technology to run every factory at unprecedented productivity.

What is this job about? You will bring Ethon to the manufacturers who need it most, owning new customer relationships from a first call to a signed contract across prospecting, discovery, demo, and negotiation. You don't need sales experience, but a track record that suggests you'll learn the craft fast. You pick the accounts, get in the door, and earn the trust of a plant manager who has seen existing solutions fail. You build the case for why Ethon is the answer, and you close the logo that becomes our next reference customer.

Responsibilities

  • Get close to the customer: Process engineers on one day, COOs the next. You learn their operations, their KPIs, and where the pain is.
  • Turn shopfloor problems into business cases: When an operator says scrap spikes on the night shift, you dig into the data, quantify what it costs, and build the math that gets them to sign.
  • Be in the field: The best insights come from being at customer sites, industry events, shopfloors.
  • Own a number: You're comfortable being measured on outcomes, not effort.
  • Work with founders: You own the path into strategically important logos and shape where the company goes next. When something in how we sell isn't working, you flag it and ship a fix.
  • Work with the team: BDMs generate leads alongside you, the deployment team takes over post-signing. You own the cycle in between.

Candidate profile / Qualifications

  • You're technical enough to run a deep discovery on a production line and commercially sharp enough to read the incentives of a VP sitting across from you.
  • You have 2-3 years of experience in something demanding: Enough to know what great looks like, with runway to grow into something much bigger here.
  • You'd happily lose an afternoon to a YouTube deep-dive on injection molding or biscuit production.
  • You have a builder mindset: When you see something broken, you're inclined to go and fix it.
  • You're coachable, likeable, and intellectually honest.
  • You're open to travel 30% of the time.

Six-month ramp

  • Months 1-2: Product, customers, and how our best deals get won. You shadow deals, run first calls with coaching, and build your understanding of the space.
  • Months 3-4: You start owning pipeline, with deal reviews and direct mentorship.
  • Months 5-6: Full AE motion, real commission. By month six, your first deal is closed. If you already come from sales, the ramp is faster but the learning curve doesn't flatten.

Great fits

  • Sales or Business Development at high-growth startups or other Industrial Tech platforms where you wore multiple hats and outran the playbook.
  • Former founders, with customer-facing exposure to building and selling a B2B product.
  • Top-tier consulting, ready to leave the deck behind and own a pipeline.
  • Digital transformation in manufacturing, where things were moving too slow for you.

Bonus

  • A technical degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial tech, or operations software.
  • Fluency in German, French, or another European language.
