We are recruiting a Head Pastry Chef for our client in London.
Key Responsibilities
- Pastry Production & Menu Creation: Design, develop, and produce a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor junior pastry chefs and other kitchen staff, ensuring they meet quality standards and follow procedures.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pastry section, maintaining equipment, managing stock, and minimizing food waste.
- Quality Control: Ensure the exceptional quality of all pastry products and maintain strict standards for food safety, hygiene, and allergen handling.
- Collaboration & Support: Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, costing, and contributing to the overall financial and creative goals of the kitchen.
- Operational Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with food health and safety regulations, and the company's policies and procedures.
- Culinary Expertise: A proven ability to create a variety of pastries and desserts, from classic to contemporary, with an emphasis on both taste and presentation.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills to effectively motivate and guide the pastry team, coupled with excellent communication skills.
- Experience: Significant experience in a senior pastry position within high-end kitchens is often required.
