We are seeking a friendly, reliable Shop Assistant to join our zero-waste, plastic-free shop with an in-house café. This is a varied, customer-facing role ideal for someone passionate about sustainability, community, and ethical retail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide warm, helpful customer service in both the shop and café area.
- Support customers with refill systems, weighing containers, and product queries.
- Operate the EPOS/till system and handle payments.
- Replenish stock, rotate products, and maintain attractive low-waste displays.
- Assist with deliveries and stock checks.
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks in the in-house café.
- Clear tables, wash dishes, and keep café and shop areas clean and welcoming.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
- Act as an ambassador for zero-waste and plastic-free living.
About You:
- Customer-focused with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Interested in zero-waste, plastic-free, and sustainable living.
- Comfortable multitasking across retail and café settings.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Awareness of food hygiene standards.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Retail or café experience.
- Barista or food service experience.
- EPOS/till experience.

- Certification in food hygiene (can be obtained after appointment).
