An automotive component manufacturer with sites across Europe requires a HSE Officer to promote a “safety first” culture within the plant. The ideal candidate will hold a NEBOSH qualification and have experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Commutable from: Liverpool, Chester, Warrington, Halewood, Speke, Birkenhead, Wrexham
Salary: £38,000 - £46,000 p.a.
The Role:
- Keep up to date with HSE legislation and ensure compliance
- Meet safety KPIs and performance targets
- Manage potential incidents and promote a proactive safety culture
- Maintain and review risk assessments regularly
- Oversee chemical register, COSHH, and safety data sheets
- Support departments with HSE assessments (PUWER, REBA, PCA)
- Monitor safety equipment (eye wash stations, spill kits, first aid areas)
- Prepare HSE reports and dashboards
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions
- Manage hazardous materials and coordinate safe removal
- Deliver safety training and inductions
- Ensure accurate HSE records and legal compliance
- Conduct audits and inspections
The Person:
- Educated in a NEBOSH qualification you will have experience in a Health & Safety role (ideally in fast-paced environments)
- Strong organisation, communication, and ability to prioritise under pressure
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently or in a team
- Proactive with a willingness to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills and integrity
- Able to collaborate across teams and functions
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
