An automotive component manufacturer with multiple sites in the UK and the West Midlands require a Quality Engineer to be the main focal point to the customer, internal teams, suppliers for quality and engineering issues during the program life. The ideal candidate will have experience in 1st tier automotive and sound knowledge of quality best practices.
Commutable from: Redditch, Coventry, Birmingham, Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa, Worcester, Kidderminster, Stourbridge.
Package: £42,000 - £45,000 p.a. + Pension + Free Parking.
The Role
- Support project management in defining the necessary test equipment and gauging to satisfy the quality requirements.
- Support design reviews and prototype builds.
- Lead the team in preparation of control plans and support PFMEA reviews.
- Take responsibility for recording, progressing, responding and closing of customer concerns utilising 8D and other problem solving techniques.
- Support the supplier APQP and supplier development improvement.
- Support launch as appropriate through PPIR reports, interim PSW and alerts.
The Person
- Educated to HNC, HND or Degree level in a manufacturing discipline.
- Proven experience in quality engineering in a 1st tier automotive environment.
- Experience in quality best practice such as APQP and PPAP.
- Candidates with experience of project based quality is desirable.
