A modern and forward-thinking property and construction consultancy are looking for a Project Manager / Employer's Agent to join their central south major works team. Established over 30 years ago, they work for a broad range of clients across the private and public sectors, providing a full suite of property and construction consultancy solutions. They are determined and have a hands-on, flexible approach, pulling out all the stops for their clients. Their goal is to be modern, dynamic and professional but above all their goal is to be the best. To achieve this, they need to employ and retain the best staff.
Role & Responsibilities of the Project Manager / Employer's Agent:
- Projects are primarily (but by no means exclusively) façade remedial works with project values between £1m to £20m. Employers range from national developers and government departments to freeholders.
- Manage a number of live projects at differing stages and identify and plan for new work as required.
- Technical design reviews.
- Procurement of construction works.
- Production of technical documents.
- Preparing and reporting against project programmes.
- Client relationship management.
Skills & Experience of the Project Manager / Employer's Agent:
- Understanding of JCT Contracts and the administration of such contracts (Contract Administration, Employers Agent) and the administration of change.
- Building pathology, construction terminology.
- A basic understanding of warranties/bonds etc and when these should be utilised.
- Understanding of CDM2015 Regulations.
- Leadership, communication, and organisation.
- Willingness to succeed and to take ownership.
- Commercial awareness.
- Good written communicator (reports, letters etc.).
- Flexible and open minded.
- Good listening skills.
