Are you an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator looking to develop your career within a high performing team? Then a role with this market leading Contractor could be for you.
My client is a multi billion International Civil Engineering Contractor delivering Water and Waste water Schemes on Capital Delivery Frameworks across the South. They are looking to add a Civil Engineering Estimator to their Commercial Delivery Team on a large Water infrastructure project in the South.
As a Civil Engineering Estimator, you will be required to:
- Appraise the civil design, review specifications and drawings.
- Produce detailed activity schedules or BOQ's.
- Consider site safety, health and environmental issues and identify and include mitigation costs within the estimates.
- Attend site visits across the south-east as required.
- Work with the M&E Estimators to include any temporary treatment processes that enable our works to be undertaken.
- Obtain accurate prices and quotations for all civil aspects including subcontracts, materials, plant, and labour.
- Estimate all or parts of the works either via bespoke unit rate library or using supply chain.
- Production of project related costs and staffing in accordance with the Clientβs cost capture system.
- Record areas of potential risk or opportunity.
- Attendance to settlement meetings.
- Contribute into the continuous improvement plans to help drive efficiency.
The following qualifications are essential:
- Qualified in a civil engineering discipline
- Knowledge and understanding of civil construction (typically groundworks, R.C bases, retaining structures, tanks/chambers, R.C. roads, pipework, and ductwork) and associated civils temporary works
- Ability to manage and prioritise a high volume of work that requires completion within tight timeframes to meet the demands of the contract and the timely completion of multiple concurrent tenders with a fast turnaround in a Framework Environment.
