This program is a 2 year apprenticeship through Wakefield College.

Starting salary rate: £7.75/hour

As a Manufacturing Apprentice, you’ll rotate through departments across our manufacturing site, gaining a well-rounded understanding of our operations while studying towards an NVQ in Lean Manufacturing Operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental compliance procedures, promoting a safety-first mindset.
  • Rotate through different departments to build a broad understanding of manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain an apprentice journal to document key learnings and development areas.
  • Support with quality testing of materials and products, ensuring they meet internal and external standards.
  • Record data accurately in line with operational and quality procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Support Autonomous Maintenance by carrying out basic equipment care (CILT: Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, Tighten).
  • Perform visual inspections and help identify equipment reliability issues.
  • Minimise waste, support recycling efforts, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
  • Study and complete all apprenticeship coursework, assessments, and qualifications on time.
