Buyer Specialist – Indirect Procurement
Location: Newcastle
Contract: 12 months
Working Pattern: Mostly onsite, with occasional flexibility for 4 days in office / 1 day remote
About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Buyer Specialist to support indirect procurement activities, working across suppliers, purchasing, sourcing and contract management.
Full procurement experience is not essential , as training will be provided. Candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sourcing and procurement activities across indirect commodities.
- Manage RFQs, purchase orders and supplier processes.
- Support supplier selection, performance management and negotiations.
- Work with internal teams to deliver cost and process improvements.
- Maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Junior profile – less than 5 years’ experience.
- 1–2 years’ procurement/supply chain experience preferred, but not essential.
- Strong MS Office skills , particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong organisation, listening and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive and willing to learn.
- Ability to work onsite and be flexible with occasional remote working.
- Valid UK work permit required.
- Degree is not mandatory .
- Technical background is not required .
