Role Description

Data Management Specialist – Insurance

Not a practitioner, someone who can outline the approach, work, artefacts for data management across the entire insurance value chain of Insurance - critically define personas, define data management practices - including product master, cataloguing, data quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale data programmes (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Analytics, AI/ML) aligned to insurance business objectives.
  • Oversee delivery of multi-project portfolios across policy, claims, underwriting, and customer data domains.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate insurance requirements into data solutions.
  • Drive data governance, quality, and compliance (e.g., IRDAI, Solvency II, GDPR).
  • Manage programme budgets, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
  • Ensure integration of core insurance platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, etc.) with data and analytics ecosystems.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including data engineers, architects, and analysts.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of programme/project management experience with a strong focus on data initiatives.
  • Proven experience in the insurance domain (policy, claims, underwriting).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms, ETL/ELT, and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with Agile/SAFe delivery models.
