We are looking for an experienced Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join a dynamic HR team and provide expert support on a wide range of complex employee relations matters. This role is ideal for a hands-on ER professional with a strong track record of managing sensitive and high-risk cases from start to resolution while partnering with key stakeholders across the business.

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, and appeals
    • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
    • Represent HR in formal hearings and appeals
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with trade unions, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders
    • Support conflict resolution and navigate sensitive workplace issues
    • Prepare case documentation, reports, and recommendations
    • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and organisational policies
    • Deliver coaching and guidance to managers on ER processes and responsibilities
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of employee relations practices
  • Essential Skills & Experience
    • 5+ years of Employee Relations experience
    • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience
    • Proven experience managing complex, high-risk, and sensitive ER cases
    • Experience handling industrial relations matters and supporting tribunal-related activities
    • Strong understanding of UK employment law and its practical application
    • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to interpret policies and legal frameworks to provide pragmatic advice
  • Desirable
    • Experience working within large, complex organisations
    • Exposure to unionised environments
