The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Salesforce CLI (SFDX), robust experience with DevOps practices, and a proven track record of 100% pipeline automation for Salesforce environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain fully automated Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce applications, ensuring zero manual intervention in deployment processes.
- Leverage Salesforce CLI (SFDX) to orchestrate metadata deployments, data seeding, environment setup, and validation processes across multiple orgs.
- Implement automated workflows for code integration, testing, validation, packaging, and deployment using Azure DevOps tools such as pipelines, repositories, and release gates.
- Develop reusable pipeline templates and scripts to standardize DevOps practices across teams and projects.
- Ensure seamless integration between Salesforce environments (Sandboxes, Scratch Orgs, Production) and Azure DevOps.
- Automate validation checks, code quality enforcement, and security scanning throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot failures, optimizing execution times and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and QA teams to promote DevOps best practices, including trunk-based development and branching strategies.
- Implement automated rollback strategies, version control, and release management procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all pipeline configurations, automation scripts, and deployment procedures.
Required Skills and Experience
- Deep expertise in Salesforce CLI (SFDX), including scripting, automation, and advanced command usage for metadata management and org configuration.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including Pipelines (YAML-based), Repos, Boards, and Artifacts.
- Proven ability to build fully automated CI/CD pipelines (100% automation) specifically for Salesforce ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce development lifecycle (SDLC), including metadata API, packaging (Unlocked and Managed Packages), and environment strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript (Node.js), Bash, or PowerShell for pipeline automation.
- Experience with Git version control, branching strategies, and code merging workflows.
- Knowledge of DevOps concepts such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Apex tests, Selenium, or similar tools) and integrating them into pipelines.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance practices in CI/CD environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer I/II or Salesforce DevOps Engineer certification.
- Experience with additional DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Copado is a plus.
- Experience working in agile environments with tools like Jira or Azure Boards.
- Knowledge of containerization or cloud-native tooling is advantageous.
Key Competencies
- Automation-first mindset with a focus on eliminating manual intervention.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and drive initiatives from concept to implementation.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Passion for continuous improvement and staying current with Salesforce and DevOps trends.
