Job Type: Full-time contract, 9 months, temp to perm conversation possible

Work Model: Onsite

Summary:

  • Own the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) and processes including planning, scheduling and inventory management to support the equipment maintenance team.
  • CMMS data entry, auditing and updates including: Assets, Inventory and Schedules.
  • Create daily/weekly work schedules for the maintenance technicians.
  • Using CMMS data to provide insight to the maintenance team to improve equipment mean time between failure and line reliability.
  • Management of the maintenance spares.
  • Raising purchase requests and following through internal sign off process to convert to Purchase Orders.
  • Communicating with Contractors, to arrange site visits, request risk assessments and method statements, and post works service reports.
  • Raising of Permits and Booking into the business V/M system.

Expected Role Challenges:

  • Managing competing priorities between reactive breakdowns and planned maintenance schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensuring CMMS data accuracy and team adoption to enable effective planning and reliability improvements.
  • Balancing spare parts availability vs. cost control while avoiding production delays.
  • Coordinating multiple stakeholders (technicians, production, contractors) with conflicting timelines and priorities.
  • Driving plant reliability and continuous improvement while maintaining strict health, safety, and compliance standards.

Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies):

  • Experience using Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Excellent telephone manner, motivated and hard working with a can-do attitude.
  • Experience with works order planning and part procurement in an engineering environment.
  • Process minded with database experience.
  • Good verbal and written communicator.
  • Drive and determination to succeed in any given task with a flexible approach.
  • Team player; willing to assist with achieving company goals & objectives.
  • Pro-active; can work effectively under own initiative.
  • Organised; able to plan and prioritise work effectively.
  • Self-determination and drive to learn and succeed.

Desirable:

  • Experience with maintenance planning and inventory management.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with SSG Insight Agility.
  • Experience in a maintenance engineering environment.

  • Strong organisation and time management to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially when coordinating with technicians, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • A strong problem-solving mindset to respond quickly to breakdowns and improve processes.
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly when managing CMMS data and compliance requirements.
  • Proactivity and adaptability to handle changing priorities and work independently.

Tools or Software (Required / Preferred):

  • No formal educational background is required; the role prioritises attitude and interpersonal strengths, with planning experience seen as beneficial but not mandatory.

Industry Background or Experience (Required / Preferred):

  • Experience in maintenance planning is desirable but not essential.
