Pay Rate: £402 per day all inc. (PAYE through Umbrella)

Role Description:

  • A self-starter with the ability to work under own initiative, showing evidence of analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Understanding all stages of systems development, from specification to implementation.
  • First class verbal and written communication skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a data-intensive project such as a data warehouse or the implementation of a service-oriented architecture.
  • Broad technical experience, having been involved in projects that ideally use the following technologies:
  • Experience on Cloud technology for data processing on AWS.
  • Good understanding of AWS architecture and features including EC2, Lambda, Auto Scaling, VPC, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, KMS, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Glue, Athena, Crawler, Lake Formation, Redshift, and Airflow.

DevOps lead with experience in data processing components in larger End to End projects.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Strong AWS solution and Implementation knowledge.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to deliver complex systems and components and manage stakeholders’ expectations well.
  • Broad and solid understanding of the concepts and roles behind data processing application build, delivery and design.
  • Experienced with planning, estimating, organizing, and working on multiple projects.
  • Experience in data mapping and technical flow design.
  • Experience in Azure data processing.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead the DevOps function across multiple business units in the bank, aligning with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
  • Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices across development, QA, security, and operations team.
  • Define and execute the DevOps vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and security leadership to drive continuous improvement and automation.
  • Establish DevOps culture, practices, and governance frameworks.

Technical Leadership:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Build, lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing global DevOps team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipeline architecture and automation platforms.
  • Lead infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native initiatives.
  • Drive observability, monitoring, and incident response strategies.
  • Champion security integration (DevSecOps) across delivery pipelines.

Infrastructure & Automation:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable infrastructure (cloud/on-prem).
  • Drive infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipeline automation, and containerization strategies.
  • Manage cloud adoption strategies across AWS, Azure, with emphasis on security and compliance.

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of production systems.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.

Sector: Banking (Preferred)

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain DevSecOps practices, ensuring security is embedded throughout the pipeline.
