Role Title: OT Cyber Consultant

Location: London, WC2N 5EH (2 – 3 days onsite/week)

Duration: 26/02/2027

Pay Rate: £358 per day all inc. (PAYE through Umbrella)

Clearance: Contractor Must Be Sc Cleared (Active)

Role Description:

  • The Operational Technology (OT) Consultant is responsible for advising clients on the design, implementation, optimization, and security of OT environments that support industrial operations and critical infrastructure.
  • The role bridges the gap between Operational Technology and Information Technology (IT), helping organizations improve operational efficiency, resilience, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance across manufacturing, utilities, energy, transportation, and other industrial sectors.
  • OT environments commonly include industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems, PLCs, sensors, and industrial networks.

Key Responsibilities:

OT Strategy & Consulting

  • Assess existing OT infrastructure, processes, and operational risks.
  • Develop OT roadmaps aligned with business and operational objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance on OT modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support IT/OT convergence programs and operational excellence initiatives. [ibm.com], [ot.owasp.org]
  • Design, review, and optimize industrial control system architectures.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of SCADA, DCS, PLC, and HMI solutions.
  • Evaluate OT assets and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Advise on industrial networking and communications technologies. [en.wikipedia.org], [servicenow.com]
  • Conduct OT cybersecurity assessments and gap analyses.
  • Develop security architectures and remediation plans.
  • Identify vulnerabilities affecting industrial systems and critical infrastructure.
  • Support incident response, recovery planning, and business continuity activities.

  • Lead or support OT implementation and transformation projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and IT teams.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications.
  • Develop technical documentation, reports, and client presentations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client leadership teams.
  • Conduct workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Present recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Support business development and proposal activities where required.
