Purpose of Assignment: This position plays a key role in supporting the strategic development and execution of both internal and external communications for the client. The role involves aligning with and leveraging global content as appropriate. External communications includes media relations and monitoring, leading communication activities within our therapeutic areas, supporting leaders with external engagement, and managing corporate reputation. Internal communication encompasses a wide range of internal activities, including but not limited to, all-employee meetings, employee engagement activities, managing intranet content, and developing relevant news and content for employees.

Key Deliverables or Milestones:

  • Implementation of external engagement strategy and tactics to raise the profile of key UK leaders and the client in the UK.
  • Working with brand teams to develop and implement communications for both internal and external audiences across our therapeutic areas using insights and data to support.
  • Manage external agencies to deliver on key activities and campaigns.
  • Partner with global teams to implement global campaigns and initiatives in the UK.
  • Collaborate with Government Affairs to raise awareness of our activities and shape our external narrative and positioning.

  • Internal: UK and global Brand Teams, Global and regional communications, UK Medical Team, Government Affairs, Patient Centricity.
  • External: External communications agencies, Media, Patient organisations, KOLs.

  • Strategic communication planning.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in corporate communications, marketing communications, or public relations.
  • Proven experience in brand communications.
  • Experience of working in the pharma industry and knowledge of the Code.
  • Experience of cross-functional projects across various organisational levels.
  • Ability to distil complex information into clear, understandable terms.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
