Contract Length: 06 months

Location: 100% in office - Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre - Strathaven. There is no public transport supporting this location and therefore the worker will need to drive. This is an old manor house, there are no lifts, so the worker would be required to use the stairs several times a day.

You will also be accountable for a variety of tasks to ensure effective communication and engagement with residents, as below:

  • Conducting face-to-face engagements, including inductions and assessments
  • Discussing options and the consequences of non-compliance with residents
  • Identifying and managing vulnerability indicators, ensuring that they are recorded and managed in-line with policy
  • Engaging regularly with IRC suppliers and stakeholders
  • Giving case updates and managing a portfolio of residents
  • Recording interactions accurately on IT systems in a timely manner and providing feedback to caseworkers
  • Contributing to management reports and undertaking office administration duties such as inbox management and taking phone calls
  • Flagging issues appropriately and in a timely manner to management or other appropriate departments

Non-negotiable:

  • These roles are 100% office based and are full time only.
  • Personal safety trained to level 2, spear training.

Working Pattern

This role requires you to be flexible. Successful candidates will need to be able to attend for early and late shifts. On weekdays, the early shifts are 08.00 to 15.24 and late shifts are 13.36 to 21.00. On weekends and public holidays (excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day), the early shifts are 09.00 to 16.24 and late shifts are 09.36 to 17.00. Candidates are required to be available for all scheduled shifts and will not have the option to select specific shifts.

Shift pattern: is 7.4 hours. Shifts are on a pattern between 7am and 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am and 5pm Saturdays and Sundays. 1 in 3 weekend working both Saturday and Sunday expected.
