The Dynatrace Senior Engineer is an experienced observability and performance engineering specialist responsible for supporting, operating and continuously enhancing the Dynatrace platform across the application management services estate.

The role helps ensure end-to-end visibility of application and infrastructure performance, enabling proactive service management, faster incident resolution, improved resilience and data-driven investment decisions.

Working closely with the CTIO, Service Delivery Manager, Technical Leads, Infrastructure Supplier and MSSP, the role provides operational insight across the supplier ecosystem

Through end-to-end observability, dependency mapping, AI-assisted analytics and automated monitoring, the Dynatrace Senior Engineer enables earlier issue detection, faster RCA, informed life cycle decisions and improved user experience across the application estate

Key Responsibilities

  • Observability Strategy & Platform Support
  • Support the Dynatrace platform and observability roadmap
  • Define monitoring, instrumentation and service mapping standards
  • Ensure effective integration with Service Now and approved toolsets
  • Maintain visibility of application, infrastructure and service dependencies
  • Service Monitoring & Performance Engineering
  • Establish end-to-end monitoring across applications, databases, interfaces and infrastructure
  • Analyse performance, capacity and availability trends
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks and degradation before user impact
  • Support performance optimisation and resilience improvements
  • Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis
  • Use Dynatrace AI and observability insights to detect, analyse and diagnose issues
  • Accelerate root cause identification across multi-supplier environments
  • Reduce investigation time through evidence-based analysis
  • Provide technical support during major incidents and recovery activities
  • Application Lifecycle Management Support
  • Provide operational and dependency data for Application Lifecycle Management
  • Identify failure points, performance hotspots and Legacy technologies
  • Support roadmap planning, technology refresh and investment prioritisation
  • Contribute evidence for retain, renew, modernise or retire decisions
  • CMDB & Dependency Management
  • Maintain service maps and application dependency models
  • Support Configuration Management through CMDB validation and enrichment
  • Identify configuration drift and dependency issues
  • Improve accuracy of service and infrastructure records
  • Automation & AIOps Enablement
  • Support AI-driven operations and automated remediation
  • Identify repeat incidents and tasks suitable for automation
  • Collaborate on monitoring-driven automation initiatives
  • Help establish self-healing and preventative operational capabilities

  • Develop dashboards and reporting for service, technical and governance stakeholders
  • Provide insight into service health, supplier performance, life cycle risks and technical debt
