We are a Global Recruitment specialist that provides support to the clients across EMEA, APAC, US and Canada. We have an excellent job opportunity for you.

Location: London - 2 days onsite

Duration: 6 months contract initially

Max. Budget: £375 per day all inc. (PAY through Umbrella)

The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced PowerServer Engineer to support audit, investigation, and strategic planning activities related to our existing PowerBuilder/PowerServer applications. The ideal candidate will assess current systems, identify gaps, and provide actionable recommendations for optimization, modernization, or migration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive audit and assessment of existing PowerServer/PowerBuilder applications
  • Conduct root cause analysis and investigations for performance, stability, and scalability issues
  • Analyze application architecture, deployment setup, and integration workflows
  • Identify technical risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare detailed assessment reports, findings, and recommendations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define modernization or migration strategy
  • Create roadmaps and implementation plans for future upgrades or enhancements
  • Provide guidance on best practices, security, and performance optimization
  • Support decision-making through technical insights and feasibility analysis
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience with PowerBuilder and PowerServer
  • Proven experience in application auditing, system analysis, or consulting roles
  • Solid understanding of Client Server and web-based architectures
  • Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, Client, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze Legacy systems and recommend modernization approaches
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with application migration (on-prem to cloud or web)
  • Familiarity with Appeon PowerServer
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards
  • Prior consulting or advisory experience
