Job Description \n Electrical Design Engineer \n Location: Culham, Abingdon Contract: Until 1 March 2027 Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week IR35: Inside IR35 \n About the Role \n We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with strong Electrical and C&I experience to support engineering design and facility enhancement programmes. \n You will work across the design life cycle, from concept through to detailed design, supporting upgrades, replacements and modifications while ensuring designs meet relevant safety, engineering and compliance standards. \n Key Responsibilities \n \n \n Develop and deliver electrical and C&I designs from concept to detailed design. \n \n Produce electrical drawings, cable schedules, BOMs and technical documentation. \n \n Manage design requirements, interfaces and configuration control. \n \n Validate designs and ensure compliance with relevant standards. \n \n Work with technicians, analysts and suppliers to support design delivery. \n \n Apply design-for-manufacture, assembly and maintenance principles. \n \n Support technical reports, procedures and project documentation. \n\n Essential Skills & Experience \n \n \n Strong Electrical Engineering and C&I background. \n \n Relevant Engineering degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship or equivalent experience. \n \n Experience with machinery safety and BS EN 60204-1. \n \n Strong knowledge of UK electrical safety regulations. \n \n Experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT. \n \n Experience producing electrical drawings, cable schedules and BOMs. \n \n Knowledge of electrical control panels/enclosures. \n \n Understanding of BS EN 61082 and recognised drawing standards. \n \n Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills. \n\n Desirable \n \n \n BS th Edition. \n \n Experience with SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical. \n \n Knowledge of functional or process safety. \n
