Role Description:
You will be working on a client site, in collaboration with Client Project Managers, SMEs and Architects to deliver projects on time and above customer expectation. You will be working closely with support teams and other functions to ensure seamless integration of project work to the Run service.
The focus of your role:
- Undertaking a range of equipment installations and configuration activities for complex or high business impact solutions.
- Performing infrastructure surveys, wired and wireless.
- Getting involved in office moves, adds, changes.
- Performing technical refresh of network hardware and cabling.
- Configuring core infrastructure components e.g. Switches, Routers, Firewalls, load balancers, voice systems etc.
- Performing impact assessments on large or complex networks.
- Performing testing to pre-determined plans and analysing results.
What you will bring:
- Expected to have undertaken other Network Engineering roles for at least 5 years.
- Demonstrable experience of configuring Network systems, switching, routing, Firewalling, load balancing and voice.
- Typically qualified to Cisco CCNA level or vendor equivalent accreditations.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of networks including network security, virtual private networking (VPN), converged networks and broadband technologies.
- Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/Voice network infrastructures for enterprise organisations.
- Understanding of racking, cabling and containment systems and standards.
- Subject Matter Expert in one or more areas is an advantage.
- Demonstrates behavioural competencies associated with frequent change, urgency and versatility.
- Aware of Company values and demonstrates adherence to them.
Special Requirements or Accreditations:
- Required to work 5 days per week in Barrow-in-Furness site.
- Will not have left the country for more than 28 consecutive days within the last 5 years.
