The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Clerk to Governors and Trustees. The role is available for an immediate start subject to satisfactory clearances.

This role provides independent administration support, procedural guidance, and legislative advice to the Governing Body at St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School.

The successful candidate will be well organised, resilient, resourceful, and understand the need for confidentiality. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to record accurate minutes of complex discussions.

The post is part time i.e. minimum 7 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed, to include evening meetings). A request for hybrid working will be considered, with attendance in person at most meetings as required by the Chair of Governors.

This post is graded Bristol Grade 8 (BG8), term time only plus 5 INSET days. The salary for this job will start at point 12 of the BG8 range, i.e. £28,163 gross per annum pro rata (equivalent to £14.59 per hour gross). The actual salary range will be impacted by this role being part time and term time only.

The School

St Mary Redcliffe and Temple (SMRT) is a successful and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1750 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond. We are located at the heart of the city and have a diverse student community with considerable parental support. Our diversity is a strength and something we celebrate. The Redcliffe Sixth Form Centre currently houses approximately 700 students from our own school and from many other schools across the City.

When providing details of your referees you must include their e-mail address. References must span the last 5 years of employment history in accordance with KCSIE guidance. Please include a referee from your current post (principal or headteacher where applicable) and if you have worked in multiple settings in this 5-year period, you should have included a referee from each setting.
