The Avenue Primary School and Children’s Centre is looking for a caring and motivated Teaching Assistant to provide support to KS1 pupils in its Resource Base, with effect from February 2026.
Working Hours: Part Time (30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year, no Teacher Training Days).
Contract: Fixed Term (until 17th July 2026).
We are a vibrant co-educational, non-denominational primary school, educating children between the ages of 3 and 11. Located in the charming garrison town of Warminster, Wiltshire, our staff are dedicated to creating a safe and exciting place for children to thrive and learn. Responsibilities:
- As a Teaching Assistant, you must be able to work across all age ranges and be prepared to work flexibly to support children of all abilities, including those requiring SEND support, so SEND experience would be advantageous.
- You will work with other staff in our dedicated Resource Base to help pupils progress in their learning and will make a real difference to their school lives.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children and supporting them in their development.
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents.
- Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Is self-motivated, dedicated and consistent.
- Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations.
- Is a strong team player, who can use their own initiative.
- Has a positive and flexible attitude.
- Has experience of supporting children’s learning.
- Understands and is sympathetic to the needs of young people, including their social and emotional wellbeing.
- Has a current First Aid or is prepared to undertake training.
- Has experience working with children with SEND (advantageous).
