JOB PURPOSE

We are looking to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic, creative and motivated SEND TA2. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in predominantly working with a SEND pupil, mainly on a one‑to‑one basis in a classroom setting but sometimes in a group, during lunchtime and break times to model appropriate behaviour and encourage participation. The role will also involve personal care and manual handling. We are looking for a staff member who has a passion or specialism in the area: speech, language and communication needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Have high expectations and a strong commitment to raising standards for a child with SEND.
  • Make learning exciting, memorable and bespoke for the pupil in collaboration with the class teacher.
  • Have experience and a keen interest in supporting SEND pupils, including pupils with complex needs.
  • Be trained, or a willingness to be trained, in manual handling.
  • Undertake personal care.
  • Under the direction of the teacher, support effective teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of students.
  • Have experience of working with children with SEMH needs (desirable).
