Sheridan School are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join their maintenance team. We are looking for a passionate handyperson and an enthusiastic DIYer, who will carry out reactive day-to-day maintenance issues within the site and their grounds. You will also assist in supporting our other homes in the community, liaising with contractors when on site and ad-hoc requests from management as necessary.

Sheridan School offers an integrated programme of education and therapy for young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, compounded by complex disorders including Autism. Age range for students is from year 4 to year 11 and the school is comprised of Primary, Secondary and ASD provisions.

Responsibilities- Carry out reactive day-to-day maintenance issues within the site and grounds.
- Support other homes in the community, liaising with contractors when on site and ad-hoc requests from management as necessary.
- Assist in implementing maintenance checks and routine tasks as required.
- Ideally, you will have experience of general labouring skills and handyperson work.
- Communication – you may interact with young people who may display varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and related needs.
- Organisation – confident and organized in record keeping, ensuring issues are logged on internal computer systems and up to date with routine maintenance checks.
- Attentive – able to understand different jobs and identify where we can provide support.
