Pastoral Support — Grade: G01 (NJC SCP 2–4). Salary (FTE): £24,413 – £25,185; Actual Salary: £17,577 – £18,133. Contract Type: Fixed-term initially. Working Pattern: 38 weeks (term time only + 5 INSET days). Hours: 31 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Ysgol Maes Hyfryd is a specialist school dedicated to supporting pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs to achieve their full potential. We are seeking a caring, committed, and resilient Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality support to pupils across the school. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to support pupils’ learning, behaviour, wellbeing, and personal development.
The role includes:
- Supporting pupils in the classroom and wider school environment
- Delivering targeted interventions
- Assisting with personal care
- Contributing to positive behaviour support strategies
- Supporting pupils during hydrotherapy and swimming sessions
- Educational visits and residential placements, which may involve overnight stays
