This is an exciting opportunity to join New City College at our Hackney campus as a Finance Systems Project Analyst. You will play a key role in implementing and developing our new Financial Management System (FMS), shaping how financial data is managed, reported and used across the organisation. Working closely with Finance, IT, MIS and external system partners, you will help deliver a smooth transition to the new system, strengthen data quality and provide expert support to colleagues across the College.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the successful implementation of the new FMS, ensuring a smooth transition and providing high quality support to users.
  • Manage day to day system administration, including user access, security roles, document templates and configuration.
  • Extract, transform and upload data from legacy systems, lead data migration and archiving activities, and maintain strong data quality controls through troubleshooting, audit checks and exception management.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards and business intelligence outputs to support budgeting, forecasting and audit requirements.
  • Support reconciliations across key data sources and strengthen system controls to ensure financial information remains accurate and reliable.
  • Work collaboratively on chart of accounts design, structure mapping, testing and process improvements, while identifying opportunities to streamline data flows and enhance system performance.
  • Design and deliver training, produce guidance materials and establish user groups to support effective system use.
  • Contribute to audit responses, ensure compliance with GDPR and College policies, and safeguard system integrity through regular monitoring and review.

Who You Are

  • Strong experience of working with financial systems and a solid understanding of core finance processes such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Confident working with large datasets and advanced Excel tools, and ideally have experience with Power BI or SQL.
  • Enjoy solving problems, improving processes and working collaboratively with colleagues across different teams.
  • Communicate clearly, build positive working relationships and can explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Committed to supporting high quality financial information, strong system controls and a positive user experience across the College.
