North Star 82° is a primary provision within the North Star Academy Trust based in North Bristol specialising in supporting pupils experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties. We aim to be part of a joined-up provision offering our pupils the outstanding education they deserve.
We have one position available for committed and high-quality Attendance and Parent Liaison Officer. In this vital role, you will act as the key link between school, families, and external agencies—working to promote engagement, reduce barriers to learning, and ensure the wellbeing of our pupils and their families. You will be required to work 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum. Actual salary £24,043–£25,246 p.a.
The successful candidate will be joining a positive, solution-focused team of staff who are dedicated to help improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils. The successful applicants will have:
- Strong communication skills with a range of children, adults and professionals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a non-judgement and empathetic approach.
- At least one year's experience of working in a learning/childcare setting.
- A flexible, adaptable and positive attitude to working in a structured environment.
- The ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.
- The skills of empathy, listening, communication and the ability to respond to unexpressed need.
- A willingness to undertake further training that will be offered.
- The ability to build strong professional relationships with families, staff, and external agencies.
- A good understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and early help processes.
- Strong organisational skills, initiative, and a flexible, solution-focused mindset.
- The ability to support our programme of extra-curricular activities.
