Join Our Team as an After School Club Assistant at Kings' Forest Primary School!
Start Date: 01/06/2026
Salary: Grade 12, £25,185 FTE per annum (Actual Salary based on weeks worked and hours: £2,567.07 p.a.)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 4.5 per week (Tuesday and Friday), term time only excluding INSET days

The Role
We require an afterschool club Assistant to support two sessions per week. The role will require you to facilitate play, supervise and support activities and safeguard children after school. Under the direct supervision of the Headteacher you will be responsible for operating the After School Club so as to ensure the safety, general welfare and proper conduct of pupils during this period. You will develop, implement and review the policies, procedures and practices within the After School Club in line with the agreed principles of the Kings’ Forest Primary School After School Club ethos.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate play and support activities during after‑school sessions.
- Supervise and safeguard children at all times.
- Operate the After School Club ensuring safety, welfare and proper conduct of pupils.
- Develop, implement and review club policies, procedures and practices in line with school ethos.
- Meet and greet parents, passing on any messages in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- A motivated individual who can use initiative.
- Ability to build excellent relationships with children while maintaining professional boundaries and high behaviour expectations.
- Confidence to facilitate and support play.
- Willingness to undertake necessary safeguarding training and treat children with dignity and respect at all times.
- Good sense of humour.
- Fluency in spoken English – essential for the post (Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 applies).
