Bristol Grammar School is seeking a part-time specialist 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, to start as soon as possible. The purpose of the role is to provide assistance to a pupil with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) so that they can safely participate in all areas of school life. This will include helping them to access the curriculum and participate in learning, experience a sense of achievement, and develop independence in learning, as well as enjoying other aspects of school life (extra-curricular activities). Learning Support will be provided on a 1:1 basis, although teachers may suggest assisting other pupils in the class if appropriate. Learning Support assistants (LSAs) are integral members of the Infant and Junior Staff team and play a full part in the life of the School.

Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 learning support to a pupil with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) to enable safe participation in all school life and access to the curriculum. Assist the pupil in learning activities, monitor progress, and promote independence and a sense of achievement. Support participation in extra-curricular activities and school life as appropriate. Collaborate with teachers to determine when additional support is needed and when assistance with other pupils in the class may be appropriate.
