An exciting opportunity has arisen for a playworker to join the team in the Breakfast Club at Thanet Primary School in Hull. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high quality, caring and stimulating environment. We require someone to join us on our schoolβs journey with the OPAL programme which enables us to provide every child with rich opportunities to be creative, collaborative and active in their outdoor play, in environments that are safe enough for \βhealth and safety\β but challenging enough for children\βs ongoing development.
Contract and Salary Details
Hours: 7.5hrs per week (approximately 7.15am to 8.45am but times may vary to suit the needs of the school)
Grade: 3, Scp 3-5, Β£4,225 β Β£4,359 per annum (actual salary)
Job requirements
- Working within the Breakfast Club Team to deliver wraparound care for children aged 3 β 11 years.
- To provide a caring, secure environment, through individual attention and group activities and to organise an appropriate range of play activities for the children attending each day.
- Experience of working with children in a formal setting.
- Basic Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate prior to taking up the post.
- A proven ability to work on their own initiative with a good level of self-motivation.
- A good level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- The ability to use relevant technology/equipment would be advantageous.
- A good understanding of healthy eating and good dining habits.
