Bridge House School is a specialist SEMH provision for pupils with significant and complex needs. We are seeking a committed, resilient, and experienced SENDCo to lead our SEND strategy and coordinate provision for medical needs and children in care due to school expansion. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who need it most.

Your Role:

  • Supporting our current SENDCO
  • Be the strategic lead for SEND across the school, ensuring high-quality, personalised provision for all pupils with EHCPs
  • Oversee and coordinate the identification, planning, delivery and review of SEND support and interventions
  • Act as the Designated Teacher for Children in Care, ensuring high aspirations, emotional support and excellent outcomes for looked‑after pupils
  • Lead the school’s provision for medical needs, including Individual Healthcare Plans and liaison with health professionals
  • Work closely with families, staff and multi‑agency teams to secure wraparound support
  • Provide CPD and coaching to staff to develop inclusive, trauma‑informed practice

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with the National Award for SEND Coordination (NASENCO) (or already working towards it)
  • Significant experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a specialist or alternative setting
  • A deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes, and inclusive pedagogy
  • Knowledge of SEMH needs, trauma‑informed approaches, and barriers faced by care‑experienced children
  • Experience supporting pupils with medical needs and developing Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
  • A strong communicator who is empathetic, organised, solution‑focused, and passionate about inclusion
