The Caretaker is responsible for the day-to-day operation, security, maintenance and presentation of the school site, ensuring that buildings, grounds and equipment are fit for purpose and compliant with health and safety requirements.Main Duties and Responsibilities• Act as keyholder and manage opening, closing, alarms and site security.• Carry out routine inspections and identify maintenance requirements.• Undertake general repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating and repairs to fixtures and fittings.• Monitor heating, lighting, water and energy systems and report faults.• Manage contractors and ensure compliance with safeguarding and health and safety procedures.• Maintain safe, clean and tidy grounds including litter removal, gritting and snow clearance.• Support cleaning standards and ensure washroom facilities remain stocked and operational.• Set up rooms and equipment for assemblies, meetings and school events.• Receive deliveries and manage storage of supplies.• Maintain records of maintenance, compliance checks and premises issues.Safeguarding Responsibilities• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and comply with all safeguarding policies.• Undertake an enhanced DBS check and maintain professional conduct at all times.Person Specification - Essential• Experience of maintenance, caretaking or facilities management.• Good practical DIY and repair skills.• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.• Good communication and organisational skills.Interviews will take place on Monday 19th October 2026### AttachmentsMosaic Partnership Trust Privacy Notice (Job Applicants)### Safeguarding Statement:Gillingstool Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion. #J-18808-Ljbffr
