The Technical Project Manager works on multiple projects ensuring the team is hitting deadlines, clients are satisfied and project profit remains on target! On a day to day basis they work closely with a small team to produce excellent technical CAD drawings on Solidworks and manage client expectations, issues and installations. They will also need to quality control work produced by external suppliers and proposals to be submitted to clients. Being able to quote for a variety of projects quickly and concisely is essential, using our external suppliers and industry knowledge. Building a rapport with clients and venues for installations is a key element of this role.
Ideal Experience:
- Minimum 4 years CAD experience
- Direct experience in retail design & CAD engineering
- Fluent in Solidworks
- Comfortable with Project Management of your own projects
- Deep understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
- Adobe Suite for art working is a bonus but not necessary
- Solving problems and being proactive to actively avoid problems
Responsibilities & Scope:
- Technical engineering: CAD Engineering with the key aims of value, function, creativity, sustainability and innovation. Must have Solidworks experience 7+ years
- Direct client and manufacturing liaison
- Technical drawing and development
- Supplier visits and quality control
- File creation for manufacture e.g. laser/CNC, printing and cutting files etc.
- Project management (getting the job done with maximum efficiency and service to the brands you work with) Working quickly whilst maintaining a logical, thorough approach
Project Management: Oversee the execution of client projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate with internal teams (creative, production, etc.) to ensure project requirements are met. Manage project scope, identify and address potential risks, and proactively communicate any changes to clients. Ensure all project deliverables are accurate and meet client specifications.
Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with assigned clients and suppliers. Serve as the primary point of contact for client communications, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and managing expectations. Proactively anticipate client needs and develop solutions to meet those needs. Conduct regular client meetings to review project progress, discuss strategy, and identify new opportunities. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic recommendations and insights.
Financial Management: Manage client budgets and ensure projects are delivered within agreed-upon financial parameters. Develop accurate project estimates and proposals. Track project expenses and ensure accurate billing. Identify opportunities to increase revenue from existing clients.
Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (leadership, design, engineering) to ensure client needs and expectations are met. Communicate project requirements and feedback effectively to internal teams. Participate in internal meetings to discuss client strategy, project planning, and process improvement. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
