Our client is a small but ambitious Managed Services Provider (MSP) supporting clients across Scotland, the UK, and internationally. They deliver trusted IT support, cyber security, and technology solutions across a wide range of sectors.

They are looking for a skilled and motivated IT Helpdesk Engineer to join them as a 2nd/3rd Line Team Lead. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support for a wide client base across multiple industries.
  • Lead and support junior team members across 1st and 2nd line functions.
  • Take ownership of complex technical issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage and deliver IT projects from planning through to implementation.
  • Advise clients on IT strategy, systems architecture, and future planning.
  • Research and recommend innovative solutions to meet client needs.
  • Support and maintain a range of IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Lead the implementation of cybersecurity best practices within the IT support team, ensuring secure management of systems, data, and user access, while supporting compliance and incident response efforts.

Key Skills and Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT support or Helpdesk roles (MSP experience preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments
  • Experience with:
  • Microsoft 365 administration (Intune, SharePoint, Exchange, licensing)
  • Microsoft Azure (VMs, Storage, Vault, Storage Accounts)
  • Virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, SMB, VPNs)
  • Firewalls, routers, managed switches, and Wi-Fi network configuration
  • Email security protocols (DMARC, DKIM, SPF)
  • Command Line and PowerShell scripting
  • Remote Monitoring and Management tools (RMM)
  • Apple Mac troubleshooting and Unix command line (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Full UK driver’s licence
