We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Fabricator/Welder to support ongoing maintenance and repair operations. This role involves hands‑on fabrication, welding, and general maintenance duties, with a focus on maintaining, repairing and modifying transformer tanks and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs on transformer tanks and associated ancillaries
  • Perform fabrication and welding tasks to a high standard (MIG/TIG/Arc as required)
  • Undertake modifications to existing equipment and structures
  • Operate workshop machinery including cutting tools and lathes
  • Conduct precision cutting, shaping, and finishing of metal components
  • Assist with general day‑to‑day maintenance duties across the site
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimize downtime
  • Work from technical drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company procedures
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment

What we’re looking for

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Fabrication, Welding, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Forklift, overhead crane, or other relevant plant licences
  • Proven experience in fabrication and welding
  • Competence in operating lathes and other workshop machinery
  • Experience in maintenance environments
