What's the role?
Reporting to the BR USH BPS Senior SHE Manager, the SHEManager willbe responsible forpromotingand upholding a positive health and safety culture throughout the Scottish region, focusingon civils construction and M&E disciplines at site.
The role will alsobe responsible forkeeping employees, contractors and visitors to site safe, preventing harm and illhealthand helpingto achieve SHE KPI targets.
This role will develop and maintain SHE standards within all BPS projects both as Principal Contractor and contractor statusin accordance withcurrent health and safety legislation, BPS policies and procedures.
Ensuringmanagers and employees always demonstrate compliance with allhealth and safety legislation, SHE standards, BPS policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Providespecialist advice for all matters relating to the statutory requirements concerning SHE factors to the site operational team, managers, employees and subcontractors.
- Implement and maintain procedures to meet the requirements of ISO14001 and ISO45001 and ensure compliance with the standards across BPS and the BRUSH Group.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations, provide reports and identify root causes.
Implementing action plans to prevent re-occurrence and share lessons learnt across the wider group.
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, including fire regulations, hazardous substances, work at height, noise, HAV and occupational diseases etc.
What we’re looking for
- Tech IOSH, orworking towards.
- Relevant experience in a sub-station, HV/LV environment
- NEBOSH General / Construction certificate.
- Experience with BS EN ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001.
- Excellent understanding of current SHE laws and legislation.
- A good understanding of fundamental Civil, Mechanical and Electrical principles.
- Regular travel in Scotland and across the UK
