This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives at the intersection of modelling, system analysis, and hardware experimentation. You will play a key role in shaping future human–machine interface technologies through rigorous research and practical engineering. You will be part of a team working on R&D of current and next-generation HMI technology in close relationship with system architects, IC design, firmware and system validation teams to ensure a consistent modelling–to–hardware flow. You will take ownership of experiments, from concept and simulation through to hardware validation and performance correlation.
Main Duties
- Support the research, development and definition of mixed signal front end components using simulations or prototypes
- Perform analysis, high level modelling and simulations
- Support implementation, integration, and validation of algorithms
- Support the development of new touch detection schemes in-line with the technology roadmap
- Evolve existing algorithms in-line with project and business needs
- Work with stakeholders to define problem statements and/or research objectives
What we expect from you?
- Proven experience in high-level modelling and simulation of complex systems
- Depth of knowledge in Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
- Solid understanding of ASIC design, mixed-signal systems, and related analysis tools
- Proficient with version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion) and familiar with Agile development methods
- Proactive, curious, and collaborative, with a passion for sharing knowledge and learning from others across all levels
- Proficient in two or more of: MATLAB, Simulink, Python
- Willingness to travel for collaborative research or project work
The essential requirements
- MSc or PhD in electronics engineering or signal processing-related subjects
- BEng or MEng in Engineering, Electronics or related subjects (upper second class or equivalent)
- 5+ years post-graduate experience in engineering.
Desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of SPICE/HDL/Verilog/FPGA
- Knowledge of physics modelling tools Ansys / HFSS
- HMI and display industry experience is advantageous
